Volunteer information

Volunteer Hours – SCYHA is dependent upon volunteers to run the Association. By registering for hockey, SCYHA members are agreeing to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours per family (NOT per skater) each year. There are many different opportunities available throughout the season. Information regarding volunteer opportunities will be available at registration, on our website (www.stcloudhockey.com ) and through team managers. Use of volunteers helps us keep the cost of hockey down for you. If families are unable to fulfill the required number of volunteer hours by March 31st, a charge of $50 per unfulfilled hour will be assessed to the family’s account.

Welcome to the 2012 SCYHA Shot Club Challenge!!

05/12/2012, 8:30am (CDT)
By Mande Musielewicz

I need help borrowing nets from friends/neighbors and then getting them to/from the tennis courts on Wednesday.  If you have a pick-up or trailer and can help borrow/bring a few nets that will help ensure the success of the clinic. (Please mark the nets with your name.)  We will set them up on Wednesday and take them down after the clinic.  Please confirm your willingness to help ASAP.  The more nets we have, the more the kids will get out of the clinic.

Welcome to the 2012 SCYHA Shot Club.  As a reminder, the goal is for participants to improve their shot between May 21th and August 12th. If you would like to participate in the 10,000 Shot Club Challenge this summer, please contact Mande Musielewicz via email with participants name, level in the 2012-13 winter season and email address for all communication.

Parents are asked to monitor/verify results.  A progress report reminder will be e-mailed to you around the 5th of each month and a reply is due back by the 7th of each month (w/shot total as of the 5th). Due to the amount of time required to collect and organize the data, replies after the 7th can not be accepted.  Please mark your calendars to anticipate the progress report.  (If you’re going to be on vacation over the 5th, simply send your total to me, before leaving,)

To ensure players practice the “right way”, a shooting clinic will be held at North Jr High tennis courts on Wednesday, May 16th from 6:00-7:30.  North Jr High is very busy on Wednesday, allow time for parking.  Athletes should bring the following:

1)  Gloves

2)  Stick

3)  Shooting pad (whatever they use in their driveway)

4)  Helmet (parents discretion)

5)  Water, if desired

Thanks for your help.  Good luck this summer.
